Character, Social + Emotional, Leadership, & Identity
We expose our students to faith formation, social + emotional management skills, academic check ups and check ins, character and Christian identity in Christ and leadership lessons during our Monday sessions.
Character
In our character portion of the lessons, our DU students will learn about the fruit of the spirit, what it is, and how it connects to your character as a Christian. It is important that they understand what it means to have a Christ-like character. They will engage in projects, lessons, and hands-on activities.

James 4:10 "Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."
Social + Emotional
Social + emotional management skills are important tools our students will learn, develop, and practice. Social + emotional skills will include problem-solving, self-regulation, empathy, and more. These skills will help improve our DU students' academics, increase positive social behaviors, create positive environments, and help them successfully manage everyday life.

Phillippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Leadership
Leadership is a word our students will continue to hear throughout their life, at DU we want to ensure our students properly understand what leadership is, and what being a leader means in all aspects of their life. Leadership will instill confidence, problem-solving skills, team building, responsibility, attitude, and personal growth. Having leadership skills will allow them to succeed in all areas of life.

Matthew 20:25-28 Jesus tells His disciples that leaders should not exercise authority over people. Instead, whoever wants to become great must lower himself to be a servant. Leaders realize that serving others is the only way to lead with a pure heart, free of pride and arrogance.
Identity
Understanding your Identity in Christ is a valuable life lesson, that all of our DU students will learn and grow in. Our identity in Christ is a function of our relationship with Him. It is not based on education, economic worth, or social status. Knowing your God-given identity opens your eyes to your purpose, your relationship with God, and your relationship with others.

Romans 12:4-6 "For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us."
Arts
On Wednesday we allow them to unleash their creative side while connecting their creative genius to the Creator through different art forms and other mediums. We are excited to carry on the Bez program and we ask you to help us by sponsoring a child for one full year of after school programming. Your sponsorship will cover the cost of all art materials, expert teachers, field trips, snacks, and the big end of the year expo projects.
Our theme for the year is "Unleashed for the Future".
Arts
Unleashing DU students to their creative side while connecting their creative genius to the Creator, provides students an opportunity to identify their gifts and talents from God. DU students are able to select classes that they are interested in; painting, podcast, entrepreneurship, dance, sewing, music, graphic arts, and more. Every gift is from God. We all have different talents and God-given gifts, but they are all important and can be used for God's kingdom.

James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadow."
